Has anyone figured out what the Knights Templar have to do with all this?

Glossary of Astrological Terms
The prime verticle or circle of observation is the circle in which an observer stands when facing south. This circle is divided into 12 equal parts, comprising the 12 houses through which the signs and planets seem to pass obliquely in their apparent diurnal motion from east to west."

I'm having a bit of a problem with this. Shirley if the verticle is a circle at some point where the circle passes through the upper and lower points it must be a horizontal. I dunno !

Ohhhhh, it's astrology. I was born under the sign of Taurus and one of our characteristics is that we don't believe in that bull.

Just remember slash, most people can find the answers but very few know what questions to ask. ;)
I should give credit for being able to copy and paste...it's an essential skill for "I'm Feeling Lucky"...

A picture is worth a thousand words. And don't call me "Shirley."

No, no hostility intended or implied I hope, that is/was not my intent.

I thank everyone for taking the time to consider an answer, and it looks
like the subject provided some entertainment along the way which never
hurts.
Thanks for replying, and good you were not upset.
I think this thread has provided a few dozen people a lot of entertainment

Firstly, welcome back sparc! [To the thread you started late last year, obviously observing the response count grow yet neglecting to 'chime in' for more than 45 days]

Scarecrows (or scare-gooses... geeses?), eh? Placed 500' apart, in a line. You must have some incredibly dumb geese up there in North America.

With this explanation (gleaned from 'some bloke' alongside 'a road somewhere in NJ') I'm surprised that the construction of A-frame houses isn't banned as they would seriously disrupt the migratory pattern/routes of all goosies throughout the continent.

I take it you are not buying into the goose/scarecrow faction huh?

An excellent scientific critique. However, you are not completely unbiased in this matter. As I recall, your Antipodean Avian Abode theory claimed that the pallet structures were in place to attract our feathered friends. Photographic evidence of an avian presence near the pallet formations would strengthen your case (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

Either that, or the tree-trimming guy didn't really know why the pallets are there, and was the type that can't admit not knowing anything.

I'm not buying the bird deterrent thing at all. In fact, if geese perched, I bet we could find goose crap all over them pallets.

Many pages ago, I did propose the pallets could be temporary goose hunting blind frames. I still think this is a reasonable idea.

Celebrations are in order and the burning of pallets are perhaps appropriate now that sparc has chimed in. Personally I am not convinced that the scare cow theorists should be vindicated just yet. But for those of us that have erected, observed, documented, and possibly worshipped our pallet formations in hopes that clairvoyance will be bestowed upon us... the timing could be right. That said, my inverted V will remain erected until at least the end of February in case other unbeknown factions with credible hypotheses are revealed.

Remember .. For an erection that last more than 4 hrs ... Consult a doctor!!!
