I think he's in shock .. Seeing Sparc with the squirrel girl, probably tried to get a better view from a tree only to be forced to evacuate by squirrels .. Then retreat to the pallets for cover to find himself being shot at by "pallet guns" being operated by a squirrel ...

IMO, Pipette has a rather "feminine" sound to it, and may not serve to refocus attention on scientific matters.

On the other hand, contemplation of Avogadro's number is sure to get stuckmotor's mind out of the gutter and return it to the pursuit of scientific progress.
