Many a young girls beauty has been greatly enhanced by the viewer consuming a 12 pack of beer too! Sometimes called "beer goggles"
Thanks for explaining beer goggles. I hadn't thought about it's meaning.

I here someone already burnt those dam pallets last week.

No, too windy. They still are playing havoc around here. Everything strange that happens it's the pallet's fault.
first the squirrel with no head and then the cat door and frame went missing went and looked by the pallets in the field and there it was.
Maybe after the burning things will get back to normal and that would include less frigid temps.

This issue is just begging for an economist's analysis of costs and productivity.

I think Steve could be on the Nobel track if he can answer the "bag or beer" question.

You surely have days when you wonder about the costs and benefits of "dating." Invariably, you come back to the same old realization: "I need the advice of an economist. An economist would know how to answer my question."

I am banking on my General Theory of Delusion for my Nobel. Are you sure you didn't serve in the Prussian cavalry?

Anyhow, others have beaten me to the punch on this "dating" thing: examples include "assortive mating" (http://courses.washington.edu/ssci200/Econ_of_Dating_and_Mating.pdf) and Steve Landsburg's More *** Is Safer ***: The Unconventional Wisdom of Economics (Freakonomics ?サ More *** Please, We豎*e Economists: A Q&A With Steve Landsburg) are examples.

Steve

PS Here's a Valentine's Day card that you can buy at the economics store.

Did anyone figure out what the pallets were used for?

Sorry I didn't have time to read 163 pages!
True scientific discovery is generally not something that is suddenly realized. Often the discovery is an accident while researching something else. While the path here has wandered off course (in some people's opinion), true discovery could have already happened, but the proof has yet to be presented and accepted.
