Charlie, was there a specific reason to use the wing nut?

I'm thinking it's to leave the parking brake rod no place else it can go. The rod is pretty spindly and the pushbutton might deflect it to one side. The ears on the wingnut would hold it in place. No dust on Charlie! Good design..

It took me a minute to figure it out too, but it centers the parking brake actuating rod, and insures that it will always press the button. So simple and looks to be very effective. I noticed he waterproofed his connections on the back of the Momentary push-button switch also with silicone seal. A well thought out and executed install.

One of the pitfalls of Kubota's "economy" line up.. no PB light. I notice right away if it's in high range, but low range often takes me a while to realize it's sluggish. My wife operates the tractor infrequently enough that she might not notice at all.

Thanks Charlie, just the kind of good idea I knew somebody out there would come up with. I had originally thought to tie into the emergency flasher circuit but I think this will work better and more simple.

I thought might be the reason 'cause it looked reasonable. I had been considering a similar installation but had some concern about making sure the rod went where it was supposed to every time. This setup takes the worry out of being close. Think I will put a flasher in the feed line because a flashing light grabs your attention quicker. Might be annoying when running the PTO on stationary equipment but one isn't usually present at the operating station then anyway and would be a good reminder to have the brakes applied and locked during the operation.

Rather than design some "guides" I just saw the wingnut in my parts box and it was the right thread. I like the idea of adding a flasher to the circuit. The LED was an "extra bright" one from ebay, 5 in a pack. Its very visible. Watch where you drilll the hole, there are some plastic support webs built into the trim panel. Don't drill too close to a web so you will have enough room for the mounting hardware around the light. I don't remember which circuit I tied into on the back of the fuse panel, I think it was the one for my back auxillary light so it shuts off when the key is off. Used some nice cable cover to cover the wiring. Been three years now since I forgot and left the brake on.

I rough clamped the bracket to get a close estimate while fiddling with the brake lever. Marked and drilled the 2 holes, THEN used a file to oblong them for minor adjustments. 130 hours later haven't had to adjust it.

Somebody posted that Radio Shack has the extra bright LED for a couple of bucks, I think I will check that one out. I went through all my leftover brackets and such today looks like I will have to buy everything except some screws. Like the idea of oblong holes for adjustment, Most of mine turn out oblong anyway. LOL I don't forget my brake often but it pi$$es me off when I do. This we got to do. Thanks for the heads up about the support webs, I usually think off that whe I find I have drilled too close to one.
