The parking brake on my tractor is pretty much useless. It is a coarse-stepped metal tab on the starboard-side pedal that engages with the footboard (you can see the wear in the photos) and the steps are so far apart for the ratcheting action to provide sufficient pressure to keep the tractor from moving. I attempted adjustment but then the brakes were dragging in normal operation. The port side pedal has much finer teeth case into the back of it, but there is nothing that engages with it, more any obvious mounting points for anything that would engage with it.
it has independent brakes for L/R operation for tight turning with the diff unlocked, and the bed also are locked together by a little flip tab, which is how I normally run the tractor.
has anyone ever retrofit a better parking brake? Just looking for hints or suggestions before I venture to the junkyard looking for a handbrake. Thank you!
