I see that others have had this problem. With mine I am careful not to use the parking pawl unles it is pretty much on level ground. I did in the loader on slopes. The pawl is a poor design, and JD put out a recall on them. The dealer here had all the folks that bought this series tractor bring them in for a mod. As mentioned earlier, they reimbursed me for a teae down after warrantee was over, to fex it. While in Alaska I ran across a fellow that had paid out for the problem too. I told him about the recall and I'm happy to say that he called me later to tell me that JD was sending him his 4000 back. Stand up to the men in green, we pay for research and development in the price of these rigs.
