<deleted text> I don't think those cable chains would work very well,I think they would work there way in between the lugs?
Tim

I have seen some cable chains that the cross links run diagonally (vs straight) across the tires.. I thought that may help keep the cross links from slipping into the lugs..

Possibly they would work?
Maybe someone who has used them will chime in.
Good luck. Tim.

We got another 'significant' snow coming this weekend, so we will see how it goes this time.. I was hoping to only spend about $70 or so for them, not the hundreds it appears they will cost

hi:

Has anybody tried to use steel cable in middle of chains to stop them from getting into lugs? Or maybe a link or 2 apart and making a long skiny U shape with cable.
