Ah but you can alway cheat on an otherwise good seal. You can install a Ready Sleeve (not cheep) and that will bring the shaft diameter up so that the seal doesn't leak any more. Or you can do what third world countries do. They carefully remove the garter spring from the seal and shorten it. The spring ends are just twisted together so they are easy to shorten. A shorter spring tightens up the seal and all is good again.

I actually contacted a seal vendor with several part number for the seal, no dice. They wants exact measurements; for that would have to pull the seal out. Wont' do that unless I have a new seal to go in.

Not really a big deal. We're very rural here, not much in the way of automotive parts houses and no specialty places for something like that, but one or two of the parts houses will take your measurements, cross reference a seal (or bearing) and even here, at most it's a two day wait.
I just went through this with a weird sized grease seal on a trailer. I tore it down one evening, used a micrometer to get my measurements, went into town early the next morning, they had my two new seals in the store by early that same afternoon.

Did you ever find a seal for this tractor? I have one in hand for my MF 210 and cant seem to locate one anywhere, even checked bearing supply house in Memphis where I have always had luck measuring and cross referencing.

Seem if there is part number on seal that would be a "industry standard".. If you can get to it and read number on it, you can probably find it... Had issues with a JD riding mower and dealer wanted some ridiculous price, and I found number on seal, it was a "standard seal" at several online suppliers for about 1/3 the cost of "green store" actually I very rarely buy genuine deere as there is so much generic aftermarket that is direct fit...
