Parts washer

Stoddard solvent or paint thinner.
Stoddard solvent is basically dry cleaning solution aka gasoline and de-greasing soap.

The formula is linked to heavy cancer progression, so use it wisely.

I only use Seafoam or Simple Green in my HF ultrasonic cleaner.

Found that mineral spirits (aka paint thinner) followed by straight Simple Green (biodegradable) makes excellent cleaner IF you don't have "parts washer"...

The TS solvent is all Ive used: PCS1000
It cleans well and no
problems with the pump..

PSC 1000 works great, I have used it for years without problem in the small 3.5 gal HF bench top parts washer (they don't seem to sell that anymore but you can still get one from other sources like Amazon)

Just as an FYI I added a SS band clamp to hold the filter screen in tight originally it was just a press fit and came loose

I haven’t bought any in awhile.. I buy 2 & 3 pails at a time to keep my tank topped off..
My TS store never have/had it in stock so I’d order it online and have it delivered to the store and drive to pick it up..
Are u for sure they stopped selling it.??

As far as the filter goes, I took a whole Scotch Brite pad and took 4 “bread ties” (wire) and weaved it to the OUTSIDE of the filter box..
That way I could catch anything that might make it thru to the inside filter..

I have enough trouble getting rid of used oil and UTF, how do you dispose of the used solvent ? Safety Kleen ?

Interesting question. Here are others wrestling with the same problem.

And the last one. Look at the costs of having a parts cleaner.

Ignore it, it'll go away. ;)

It evaporates???

I've had to add 5 gallons to mine twice over the years and it is getting low again.

Idk if it’s the formula or what but the solids seem to collect on the bottom of the tank and don’t stay suspended, making for easy cleaning..
And yes, it does evaporate..
My washer has a lid and I keep it closed unless I’m using it.. AND I went around the inside seam of the lid with door/window weatherstripping.. THAT slowed the evaporation process down A LOT…
