Paul Harvey story?

Did anyone else hear the Paul Harvey story of the kids arriving for graduation in the "bucket" of a tractor? It got their picture in the local paper. I guess they encourage unsafe behaviour in those parts. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Heck.. my 5 year old has used mine as a swimming pool, but I wouldn't carry him around at 8ft off the ground while doing it.

Oh.. and not that I condone this exact thing, but here is a truthful equation:
0% risk = 0% fun 100% of the time

I did hear this today.....

Paul Harvey checkled, but I cringed.

The dad should have known better than this and I'm glad no one was hurt.

I won't knock anybody for thinking safety first, but I'll jump on the "fun" bandwagon!

Being in a tractor bucket on level ground is no different than electrical crews do daily [their trucks can compensate for ground conditions, but also lift much higher].

Now you want scary: I trust both my wife and my FIL, but the things she can do on my F11s accidently [being "too careful" on hydraulics will jerk more than a fast decline] will fill your pants even quicker than my FIL can do with a mischievious streak on his F10 [I don't have numbers, but am positive the old single lever can drop faster than the F11's].

And if the date wants to "try out the backseat" on that transportation, he's either in for a surprise or worthy of it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree Spiffy. I would feel way more safe having my kid in the bucket of a tractor loader than riding his bike on the road. It's all relative to your comfort level.
