Paying more for a kioti

   / Paying more for a kioti #31
Go and sit on some seats and see what you like and dislike. I heavily compared the JD 3E series and Kubota L and was torn. I picked those two for reliability, pricing and dealers in that order. History on both brands reveals very reliable products in the tractors I was interested in. Pricing is obvious when shopping "economy" rigs. Both dealers are close to home, very well established and good to work with.

I also liked LS, Yanmar and Kioti. Loved the tractors, but local pricing was variable and dealers were far and/or not established. Maybe it was a mistake but I don't think so. Bottom line: I love my L2501.

Buy the rig you love. You won't regret it. Buy anything else and you'll hate it with the first hiccup.

If you ever sit on a TYM you will be throwing rocks at all the other brands. Looked at Kubota, Kioti and LS before choosing TYM. Some time after my purchase I stopped by a Kioti dealer and when I sat on the Kioti it was like I was sitting on a third world tractor.....

What? Kioti is well known for their workstation and ergonomics.

Ok so first post of any kind on any forum, so take it easy. In the market for my first tractor. Not really new to tractors just first one that I will personally own. I only have 2 acres but it is in very bad shape as far as drainage goes. I have priced the 2 tractors I am looking at.

Kubota l2501 hst with loader, bucket, cruise, tank of fuel, and delivered for $18000 plus can get a box blade for an extra $200.

Kioti ck2610 hst with loader, bucket, floor mats, for 18700 plus 500 for box blade.

Seems the kubota is the obvious winner here but I hate several things about it. The kioti I absolutely love. It is very comfy as far as seat position and foot and loader controls. I've been looking and everyone has said the kioti was cheaper but I guess since the recent price increase this is no longer true.. my dealer was shocked that he got beat by kubota also.

Now it's time for the question. Should I pay more for a tractor that I like more even though I've only known they exist for 5 days? There is no doubt we know kubota is a good brand. But I'm still worried about kioti being reliable. My local dealer said the ck series has been almost trouble free since he has been selling them.

Any advice by someone with more experience with these brands and series.. My family only has John Deere and they are no where near my price range.

Thanks for the help..

I think you can do better than that price on the Kioti. Here's the what my son was quoted and agreed to the deal if we ever see the tractor show up. it's been two weeks now. He felt the same way about the Kioti as you did, everything seem to fall into place better than the Kubota. Personally I think the Kubota should be $1-2K less than the Kioti. With the Kubota there's no Linked Pedals, Telescoping Draft Links, or Floor Mat available. They didn't have a CK2610HST with linked pedals but they had a CK3510SE that had them and it works much like his Kubota Grand L3940HST without Stall Guard.

Kioti CK2610HST
K2610 Loader with a 60 bucket
R4 Tires, Goodyears 8 ply rears loaded and 6 ply fronts
Linked accelerator pedals
WR Long 3rd function
Telescoping Draft Links
Telescoping Stabilizers.
Floor Mat
Horn
$18,758.

On the Kubota L2501HST he got this quote, it was the lowest of 5 dealers.
Kubota L2501 HST
R4 Tires loaded rears
HD FEL W/2 lever style QA
WR Long 3rd Function
Bucket Rod Indicator
66" Sq. Back Bucket
Telescopic Stabilizers
Cruise Control
$19,450

Interesting. I found it to be just the opposite. When I was shopping, I found the Kioti had the most well thought out operators platform of any that I shopped and the seats are very nice. The TYM did not feel like it was at the same level as the Kioti in terms of fit & finish or overall quality.

I wish those were the prices I was quoted.. I have pretty much decided on the kioti, my only problem is the tractor and loader with no extra is 18700. I got a quote from another dealer 85 miles away for 18000 but I don't think it would be worth the hassle. The main thing I want is 3rd function, the others I can live without.

When you get it just remember; without pictures, it never happened.

Jeffy,
Take exception to your comment, RK is a crapshoot? What direct knowledge do you have to substantiate the service abilities of that firm.?
There is a strict TBN rule concerning disparaging dealers.

Perhaps you might brush up on the rules, and offering opinion about that which you have no basis in fact.

Rural King/TYM purchase would be a crap shoot, in my opinion, especially for a first time tractor owner.

Rural King is not going to have experienced tractor mechanics. And every new tractor arrives with glitches.

I consider Kubota standard models and Kioti equivalent. TYM is not equivalent.

Your hard earned money, not mine.

I know this was not toward me, but "jeffy" aka jeff9366 sent me a message stating that same rule about me saying the tractor is just parts from other tractors combined to make a new brand name... so if I did break any tbn rules I apologize. I was just going by the Fact the tractor is made by TYM which also makes other brand tractors.
I also did price them through their website and my closest dealer which was same price... just too far away and more than I thought the tractor was worth..

So back on topic.. although I can get by with a 25 hp tractor, while at the dealer he priced the 3510 hst at 21000 financed.. I don't have a need for one that size now but I do plan on purchasing more land as soon as possible. I figured if I buy a tractor now I am gonna want it to be able to do anything I might need in the next 10-20 years of me owning it so why not step up one size while I'm buying... also want to think everyone that has helped me realize to just get the tractor I like instead of what it lowest cost. Will hopefully post pics of a new kioti if I can get it financed..

Engineer,
Wasn't seeking any apologies. Stating facts such as RK tractors manufactured by TYM is truthful. I have a business background, To disparage a business than has spent millions $$ in an investment, because of some unsubstantiated speculative opinion that could potentially cost them business, is wrong, from any perspective. RK is a rock solid business, and it is their reputation being unjustly impugned. If the tractor is fairly evaluated and determined to not meet expectations, then fine. The remark is that All tractors have initial issues. That is really a dealer prep, QC matter. Is it true? Not in my case. Bought 6 new tractors in my lifespan. Honestly no initial issues. How many has jeffy bought? And none were a RK. I believe that if TYM failed to satisfy an issue, one would never know because The RK name is on the tractor. I have purchased from them for years, not tractors, but always found integrity at the heart of the sale. Visit u tube channel, outdoors with the Morgans, Mike is testing 3 RK tractors, he won't mask any issues. Give RK a chance before rushing to the crucifixion, long spikes in tow.

EDIT: Engineer, not familiar w/ kioti equipment. Many members own them, postings are self - explanatory. They too have a right to compete for market share. Also agree to upsize initial purchase to avoid future regrets.

I mow my lawn w/ a 50 hp tractor, NOT because I must, but rather I enjoy A/C and a suspension seat. Cutting 9 ft 2 inches per pass also appeals. Good luck with you new purchase.
