I bought a set of the Payne Logger forks this past summer to pickup and transport 5 ~ 6 foot lengths of oak I was cutting down. I think they are better than having to cut 4' length's and rolling them into the FEL as I was doing originally but, they are limited on how you can use them since they aren't "solid mounted". If you start putting a lateral load on them while trying to get under a log they will get skewed on the FEL. Also your FEL lifting capacity is somewhat reduced since they are cantilevered further out off the FEL. They are nice in ensuring the logs won't roll back on you as you raise the FEL above the tractor. One other item, the screw used to tighten them to the loader bucket was putting a divit in the bucket since there was no pad under the screw point. They are made well, strong with good quality welds, etc. So, are they worth it? For me the answer is yes but they have their limits.
