Does anyone have any experiece with PaynesForks clamp on bucket forks?

I have about 150 6-12 foot logs and trees laying around my property (just built a log house in the woods). A set of forks seems like a great way of moving the piles around. The PaynesForks seem like a great idea for quick attach. Anyone have any experience with them (or something like them)?

I am getting a Kioti CK30HST with FEL, BH, etc.

So it sounds like they are generally a good thing given the right type of usage.

Paynes has light duty and medium duty forks (as well as heavy duty but I definately won't need those). The medium duty have an optional backrest (which seems to be a good thing). Both have optional logger fork conversion kits. Are either of these options value added for moving stacks of logs around (4-6 tree trunks)? The light duty are rated for 800lbs the medium for 2000lbs (KL130 bucket weight is 167.5lbs and FEL lifts 1155lbs at pivot point). It seems that 800lbs on the forks would be close to (or just over) the lifting capability of the FEL with this setup. Any recommendation on which set to get?

If you can weld and have the equipment you can build your own in a single afternoon or two evenings for a fraction of the cost of the Payne's. You can also modify them to suit your individual needs. Proven plans are free.

I've been using the med. duty Payne forks for about a year now. Have moved hundreds of logs like in your picture to the burn pile. As someone else here said, they just work and work. They are just about indestructible.

My only advice about carrying 5-6 logs at a time:

1. Clamp-on forks put a lot of stress on the bucket... lifting more increases the stress. A toothbar helps quite a bit though.
2. A stack of 5-6 logs that might be 15+ft. in length (I'm just guessing from your picture) can be very unstable to pick up with forks on your loader. Remember that, unlike a skidsteer or forklift, the front axle of your Kioti pivots. Get the load a tad off center, or travel any rough or sloping terrain and you can have a major problem!

I have a new B7610 that forks would definitely help in moving brush/logs and to carry pallet's of firewood. Do they fit right over a tooth bar? Payne seems to be priced the best. MDS has forks sold at my Kubota dealer but are in the $400 range.

I think you will loose some lift capacity being farther away from the hinge point. Your load will be at the front of the bucket as oposed to near the hinge like regular forks.

There is a separate spec for lift capacity,
I think it's 18" out ? 800# ?

Hardwood logs get heavy real fast.

Yes, the Payne forks slip over and under the front lip of the bucket like a super heavy duty C-clamp.

You'll not find better folks to deal with. I use mine all the time for everything.
