Forks PaynesForks Clamp on Bucket Forks

I have used the light duty forks on my B7800 for about a year and I agree with everything said. They can handle anything that my FEL can lift (up to about 1000#), including palletized firewood and plucking pallets containing other machinery off of 18-wheelers. I didn't have a welding option when I bought them, but even "store-bought" they are still one of the most cost-effective implements I have.

Just make sure if you're going to lift heavy stuff like hardwood logs that you have PLENTY of weight on the back (a BH is good, but you need at least a heavy boxblade or tiller to be safe). Try picking up a sample load a couple of feet off the ground and then adding your own weight. If there is any tendency of the back wheels to come up, you need more weight. Also, even when adequately counter balanced, it's a good idea to move very slowly, especially over uneven ground. sorry if this was all obvious.

Good luck

Do you have any idea what it would cost to buy the materals and have somebody weld them up for me?

I am looking to buy a set of Paynes heavy duty 4000 lb forks for my Terex Backhoe. I already have a good set of hay-forks custom built for my New Holland TV-140 Tractor, but during this time of the year I cannot use them because I have to blow snow with the New Holland. I would use the Paynes Forks to haul 1-ton bales up to 100 yards to my cattle feeders. My concerns before I buy: are these going to be reliable for this type of use and recommended? Will they move around or twist left and right while driving, and will they put too much stress on the front of my bucket? Thank you for your help.
