PDF Tech. Manual File Name? 3x20 series

Anyone know the name of the file that JD ships for :

3120, 3320, 3520 and 3720 Compact Utility Tractor w/o Cab

Part # TM2138CD

And WTF is up with that file costing $5 more than the manual that includes the cab?!

Just bought a used 3120, and the last owner beat that thing from all sides in less then 200 hrs.

The price difference is probably because of the extra transmission info. Open station 3000 20 series tractors could be had with hydro in all versions and power reverser in 3320 and 3520 and then later on the auto hydro. That would be my guess. Cab versions are hydro only.

Dang, still couldn't find a copy. Whatever happened to free information? I suppose I'm not the first one to feel bitter about spending 20 grand and having to pay for the book on how to make it keep working.

Welcome to tractors. Proprietary service info isn't free, and probably won't be any time soon. Dealers are charged exorbitant prices for this info that they are required to have ( and certainly should have), often for machines they will never sell. Manufacturers aren't going to give the end user a free ride, either.

You can get the owners manual free, But not a FSM(factory service manual). No OEM that I know of will do that whether it's cars-trucks-tractors-or heavy equipment.

The FSM on CD is $75.00, It will pay for itself the first time you use it.

No, it does not because JD uses cylinders with a welded end caps and considers them non-serviceable, so they only sell a replacement and no seal kits for them.

Some GOOD hydraulic shops can cut the end cap off in a lathe, replace the seals, then re-weld them closed. One such shop is run by a member here, his name is Bill and I suggest you PM him: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/members/wdchyd.html
