I am looking for pellet air rifle suggestions. My goals are target practice, general plinking about and reducing the furry tree rat population. I am looking for one that has good accuracy, not CO2 (I don't want to have to keep buying cartridges), not made in China. I had a Daisy, worked well but lost it in the divorce shuffle... and they are now made in China. I did some quick searches here but didn't find anything that stood out as what I wanted.

TIA

Gamo air guns work great for tree rats.If they still have video it shows a wild pig being taken by one of their air rifles.
Keep a eye on cabelas for a sale.

Benjamin/Sheridan 22 pump is my pick.
I found the .177s zoom right through squirrels with little immediate damage, the .22 pellets knock 'em right down..
FYI .22 CB caps in a .22 rifle are as quiet if not quieter than many pellet guns...;)

I have a single shot break-barrel RWS Diana that is darn accurate and just feels really good to handle. Real wood and metal construction doesn't feel like a toy.

I picked up the $120 Walmart break barrel model a couple years ago and was very happy with the accuracy and power. I think it was a Benjamin, or maybe a Beeman.
PyramidAir.com is a good place to shop and gather info.
They must be getting more popular, Walmart and Gander Mountain have more space dedicated to them and there is a tv show, American Airgunner.

I have a Daisy Powerline...Let me say that I would never buy a pump gun again. It is not fun to shoot after much more then two rounds (10 pumps each). I now use a CO2 semi-automatic pistol...

I've got a Gamo Whisper, i think it's called. It's a killer; a legitimate dangerous weapon.

I also have a Diana, I think its model 52. Single pump 177 cal. Its not cheap, I think I paid around $550 with a scope. Its worth every penny. Very powerful, very accurate. You will be amazed at its killing power. Don't waste your money on the cheap multi-pump crap. Spend a little more and you will have it for life.

Thanks for all the suggestions, most of the guns mentioned I have never heard of. My checking account won't go as far as $550 for a gun... for my uses, I just can't justify spending that much. The only air guns at 3 of the Walmarts I have been in are Daisy... all made in China now. Time to dive in and do some research the others that have been mentioned.

I've got a couple RWS's, one break barrel and the other
a side cocker. Both will cover a quarter at 25 yds. with the
"right" ammo. I found with these high velocity air rifles, ammo weight,
and type are key in consistency. If you plan on putting glass
on it, lean toward a good scope designed spring piston air rifles
to withstand the heavy reverse recoil these rifles
generate. They will destroy a really good rifle scope in no time!
