Robert,

Overconditioning means a pregnant female gets overweight, and then most times has birthing problems. The offspring usually is born overweight also.

Has never been a problem. Deer are very good about keeping their weight where it is suppose to be. Only way for a deer to really get fat is if it is fed a lot of corn and the deer doesn't do much but lay around. Most deer do a lot of traveling, especially in the wild so they keep their bodys extremly lean.

Never was in bison either until some ex-dairy farmers started feeding the buffalo like they were going to milk them afterwards. Plenty of dead 1st calf heifers and calves weighing up to 110lbs dead. Not a pretty sight to say the least!!

I can imagine. Like I said though it has never been a problem and I have never heard of any case like that with Whitetails. I will ask a few industry experts if they have heard of any cases like that when I see them later this year. Later.
