The ecobox is a 24 quart cardboard box with a tapper like valve for a plastic bladder inside the box.
Major oil distributors have been offering these for several years for repair shops.
They loan the shop a two level rack which holds 6 ecoboxes as well as 6 5-8 quart measures for dispensing that takes about the same room as a 55 gallon drum.
Some retail customers like it as well,without the rack.
Brands I've seen available are Quaker State,Penzoil,Shell,and Service Pro.
Our store sells Service Pro with great results!

The link 404's now. I had one in my shopping cart from yesterday and it came up a minute ago, but when I removed it the page went away. Thought we had a Pep Boys in Salem, seems I remember driving by it but according to their store finder we have none in Oregon.
It had to be a big error on someone's part, people would be buying it to use for bar oil as it was priced cheaper than dino oil in the 70's. Good luck to everyone who paid online and show up with their paperwork tomorrow.

I work for generator maintenance company. We get 15w-40 bulk oil (5 gal buckets on a pallet) from a local dealer at 6 bucks a gallon. I would imagine if you buy 6 gal you get at 7$ per gallon for this 5w-30 synthetic.

Spoke to corporate and was told this is what Pep Boys pays for the product to stock their service bays and is not available for retail sale...

Also was told I was among a number of calls and offered a $10 gift card for my inconvenience...

So it looks like the end of the road... can't really go for bait and switch and accept the gift card.

I had a friend that actually got a round trip airline ticket for 99 cents to Florida plus taxes.

It was a glitch but the airline honored all the tickets bought and paid for in a 21 minute period.

Last month, Love's Truck Stop chain had Rotella T6 full synthetic 5w40 for sale at 2 gallons for $24 or $26. Some folks had rebate slips also that offered, I think, $4-5 off a gallon. They were getting full synthetic 5w40 for single digit pricing per gallon. These kinds of things crop up once in a while.

Thats good pricing.

I pay ~$25 for gallon jugs of T6, and about the same for 5qt jugs of mobile or Valvoline full synthetic for the gassers.

But even single digit price per gallon dont compare to the apparent error that pep boys had.....of $7 for 6 gallons. Which is just a tad over a buck a gallon

I,m kinda surprised at folks trying to take advantage of a very obvious error, on someones part.
Everyone likes to get deals, but at some point, they are steals.
I would think, that somewhere deep down in the fine print, they have their behinds covered to take care of errors like this one here.

As mentioned... one of my coworkers booked a flight to Florida and it charged his credit card 99 cents... it was legit and he took the trip... the actual cost was more with airport fees but the flight part was 99 cents.

Never know anymore with marketing and publicity... sometimes a deal is simply a deal.

Have you ever bought auto parts like oil, oil filter, air filters or spark plugs and paid nothing? I have because the rebate covered the entire cost of the product or nearly so...

Just look at the Harbor Freight business model... free LED flashlights, 9 pc Screwdriver Set, etc...
