Peppermint oil & Mice ??

I just started trying that this year. Cotton balls soaked in peppermint essential oil, in a water bottle with poked holes. Not enough experience to report back yet, but I am hopeful!!

I never install an air filter without giving it a smattering of peppermint oil,,

I lost an air filter to mice about 8 years ago,, the truck had sat a couple months,,
luckily I checked the air filter before starting it,,,,

Cab or engine filter? I have no basis to say this, but I’d be weary of doing that to an engine filter.

If my 6 liter gas engine can burn thousands of gallons of gasoline,,
but, not the vapor of a couple drops of peppermint oil,, the engine was junk before I added the peppermint,,,

We had to make room in the driveway a few years ago for a kitchen remodel. Moved our travel trailer out to the rural property and used the cotton balls with peppermint oil after removing all the food stuffs. It was there all winter closed up. Moved it back home and everything was fine. Was a little afraid it would leave behind a strong smell but it was fresh with no detectable odor. I would do it again.

Have tried it for spider repellent and it doesn't work. The smell goes away in a very short period of time so I don't see it as a realistic repellent when sprayed on.

These time release containers may be a good alternative.

We've been using it with good results. It doesn't work perfect, but has certainly helped. We deploy one of two ways, in a stationary area, we often use a small jar with some oil and sticks (like kabob sticks) to act as diffuser. In the vehicles, we have a small mesh pouch with 3-4 cotton balls that we but a few drops of peppermint oil on every few months.

Get this. You spray everything including the dog (no really) Repels mice, fleas and ticks. I have used it for two years. Makes everything smell good too!

Being the "Overlord" of field mice in this general area, who cares how crazy/weird it might be. If it works - it's great. However - my first thought when I saw the title - I don't care what you dip a mouse in - I'm not about to eat it.
