I hope everybody on the Power Trac thread keeps talking. I am thinking of getting one and shipping it to France. I really love this this thread on Tractor By Net.

I was all set on a Kubota but I have been reading on that forum all the problems and I got kind of turned off by them. Mostly what turned me off is that Kubota, when they have a defect tey don't do a recall. They just fix it if you complain. If you don't complain they don't fix it.

It seems to me from what you people write that the Power Trac company is much more cusotmer focused. I am not sure yet what we will buy, but I am considering a Power Trac. The only worry I have is our steep hills, I don't know if the Power Trac can make it up our hills. Also not having a brake pedal kind of scares me. So basically I am leaning towards a power Trac but not for sure.

Does anybody use a sprayer with theirs? We do a lot of sprayin on our 12 acres of olive trees. Whatever we buy spraying is going to figure into the purchase.

Anyway I encourage you all to keep chatting, you have an audience /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Rox,
Welcome to the forum. I am sure many others will chime in and answer your questions. I have a 425 but no really steep hills to give you any feedback.

CH 701! I think that airplane is VERY cool! I went to Oskosh tho and did not fit in it very wall, thus the Rebel. When you are 6'-3", the 701 is a little tight /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

That little guy will get in and out of some very tight places though...

Hello again Rox,
Welcome to the PT Forum. While it would be awesome to have PTs exported in numbers to the EU, on a one-shot basis, you may find that importing one could get mighty expensive.

Not to re-direct this thread, but I recall your thread of about a year ago {HERE} that you had issues with going up and down hills. Do you still have the Goldoni, and if so, has that worked out for you?

I think your concern about the hills is a good one. The PT-425 is rated for up to maybe 18-20 degrees (33%), but many of us get nervous at 15 degrees slope. The big PT-1845 and 1850 are rated to 40 and 45 degrees, but their size may be a problem in the orchard environment.

I still would recommend that you "kick some tires" on EU tractors. If you are leaning specifically to an articulated tractor, there are at least two manufacturers that make units for orchard work. The Ferrari line of orchard tractors (no relation to the exotic car) have ben imported to the US for years for orchard work, so you might want to look "next door" before looking "across the pond." The articulated Vipar AR {HERE} is a ground hugger and very at home in a hilly orchard environment. Another great tractor (I call it the Italian PT) is the MultiOne {HERE}. They manufacture no less than 4 series of articulated tractors, some of which are geared to the orchard environment.

Keep us posted. Is your olive oil available for purchase stateside??

tracdoc,
I appreciate your research, and I think the multione looks great. Yeah kind fo the Italian version of a Power Trac.
I found this really cool website, make sure and select English, and I see that there is one dealer selling them. http://www.agriaffaires.com/annonces/582-Micro-tracteur/1.asp
Of course even if you select English if the ad is written in French, then it is in French.

Anyway I think this is a cool website.

I am so darned proud to say that our olive oil is mainly being sold in Private Country clubs. Well actually I'll let it slip, George Bush's counry club except he isn't a member now that he is Prez, (his mom & dada re though) and that chef is really really skilled. He represented the United States in the Bocuse D'or (basically the Culinary Olympics) and he tried a lot of olive oils before selection our. Then we sold to the top private clubs in Atlanta and Milwaukee. However we do have 2 retail outlets it is sold at. In Philadelphia, Downtown Cheese 215-351-7412 and in Ardmore Pennsylvania, Ardmore farmers Market. Both very upscale retail outlets. I think they are selling the oil for about $25 a half a liter. Really you never had olive oil like this. I had one customer who purchased over the internet and I don't want this to post to be like "buy my oil" but why I say you never had oil like this if you go to my website you will see what kind of olive oil gets shipped to the USA, look under the Fraud page. www.MasDesBories.com

I am so thankfull that our first crop, without having one single customer we grew it and we sold it all! The husband died 4 weks before closing on the property and the widow claimed the whole customer list was in her husband's head, yah right. So basically we paid jsut over 1 Million U.S. Dollars for a top farm where the oil has been winning awards for years, and then didn't have any customers. So we are extreemly excited about selling the stock. It wasn't easy, but we did it. Actually the oil kind of sells itself, once you get to the right person to send out samples.

Thanks for asking, I am probably writing more than you were really interested in reading /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
