I've called mine many things when it was good/bad. Of course it's Never the person pulling the strings.

I call my tractor a TOY and will continue to do so on this forum. My wife and I both know that it means:
T-ractor
O-of the
Y-ear.
:D shhhhhh!

Fast moving thread......
From the beginning my wife has always called it a toy. No matter how many times I tried to say it was a "tool".

I was taking this seriously till seeing page 4. I thought "poor soul.....time to pull up your big-boy pants" :D

Then I thought, well- perhaps he is an unfortunate J.D. owner and does only have a "toy":ashamed: That would explain a lot.

But then again, his therapy might lead him to assert himself in the area of his life he is most comfortable...... In which case, we all should be supportive of his recovery:thumbsup:

Really though....My own pet peeve is when people refer to there car by make or model....."I have to take the BMW to town tomorrow" or "I have to mow the field with the John Deere". The only exception is any phrase, statement or sentence that includes "KUBOTA". We all know the importance of mentioning such a great company by name.:D:laughing:

I guess I'm on the other end of the spectrum from most on the thread.

Been married almost 10 years, feels like a 110.

The boss could careless what the tractor is referred to, all she knows is it is orangy and loud and cost money.

All I know is, it is just loud enough that it provides peace and quiet.

My wife seems to be appreciative enough of the tractor, whether it's a toy or tool. One day after doing a sizable amount of grounds maintenance, my wife just stood in the middle of the yard, looked around, and said, "Thanks, little blue tractor!"

Lighten up. My post was supposed to be satirical. Sorry if you didn't take it that way.

Steve

That makes so much more sense now that you've pointed that out. I'm a big fan of satire but totally missed it. Guess I wasn't awake yet. :)7

My wife is all for my toys (tractor, guns, etc.) because she knows that more toys mean I spent less time in her house:) Those of you that married city girls that like the country are lucky. I married a country girl. I mean she lived in the sticks at the end of a gravel road. She as no intention of ever living more than ten minutes from a Wal Mart now that she lives in town. I grew up a couple miles from town and would love to go back to the country when school districts are no longer an issue. However the closest I will get is to build a weekend cabin at our remote property.

Well one advantage MS has is there are alot of small towns in it to choose from. Might be your only compromise.

My wife won't stand for me to call mine a toy. It was her idea to buy it and she pushed me into buying new instead of used. (She actually suggested it to me when I was sitting quietly trying to figure out how to argue that position to her  ) She sees it as a serious tool and essential to getting what she wants done completed with a minimum of fuss by me. :D

If anyone is going to call it a toy, it will be her and her alone. :p

P.S. Anyone know a good way to get my pants back from her? :ashamed:
