Please excuse the rant.

I appreciate posters on TBN sharing discussions/photos of their latest acquisitions.

However, they do a disservice to some of us when they refer to those acquisitions as "toys," even though it is a completely accurate description. Some of us have invested considerable time and effort in convincing our better halves that our purchases are not "toys," but rather absolute necessities. I would request that posters refrain from the use of the term "toy" in the interest of preserving marital harmony for the general populace.:)

End of rant.

Should also mention how hard and tough it is to drive this machinery ;)

Notice it is Veteran and Gold members with this rant. With hopefully happy wives.

Us junior members should take note.

And I thought it was "Toys for Big Boys":laughing::laughing:

I suppose that I'm one of the lucky newlyweds (only 36 years.) I bought a new tractor on Wednesday and my wife was disappointed because we won't get it until next week.

I love being married to a Country Girl!

I've got you beat by 10...married 46 yrs. and the Mrs. loves to see me happy on my Toy tractors..Just lucky I guess:thumbsup:

My wife not only loves to see me happy on the tractor or rebuilding/building whatever I'm working on at the time. She'll fight me for the drivers seat sometimes.

I forgot to mention, my wife has a twin sister who's available.

Mine too, but I think it's because that she's not having to put up with my company.:) We've been married for 42+ years.

Hmm...is this a serious or humor-filled rant?

Guess I'm lucky, the only response I get when I pull up with a new tractor is "what's that for"?

I don't think I've ever seen my wife on one of my tractors, till I'm gone...then she mows the lawn with the ZTT!

I guess "toys" to us, but definitely "tools" to the spouses!;)

And, I've got some catching up to do, only married 15 yrs...

Now, my kids have got a pile of "toys" that irks the **** out of me....but that's another story/rant!

1st of all, she has figured this out long ago. She only puts you through the hoops to watch you do tricks to share with her girl friends.

2nd, I agree with Teg about making it seem complicated. The other day I was spot spraying weeds and my wife came out and volunteered to drive the tractor for me. I suggested since I had been at it for a couple of hours and maybe she could spray and I could drive. After little bit of being stared at, I agreed that if she would drive, it would help me a lot.

I've been only married for 10 years and got my toy sorry tool three years ago. When it came she said "why do you need that" I replied "its the same with you and shoes, I wanted it and it looks good on me" I still get stared at once in a while but she buys her shoes and what not knowing I wont complain.

Perhaps we're just a tiny bit different from many of you. I've been married for 45+ years to a city girl from the hills of West Virginia, but when we bought a place in the country, she loved the country life; didn't mind helping with the goats and rabbits, working in the garden, canning and freezing fruit and vegetables, etc. And when I mentioned a tractor, or almost anything else, she just said, "Well, if you want it why don't you go get it?" But unlike some of our members on TBN, whose wives like to use the tractor, too, my wife never even got up in the seat of either of my tractors; in fact, I don't suppose she ever even touched one of them; just had no interest whatsoever in learning anything about using a tractor herself. You don't suppose that was because I kept her convinced it was a lot of hard work, do you?:D

OK, so she thinks it's a toy. The important question is....Does she think your tractor is sexy.??

Only difference between a man and a boy is the price of their toys.

My wife of ten yrs. was trying to tell me we did not need all this equipment until I started naming off all the flower beds, sand boxes, pond dikes, trees, dirt, mulch, driveways, etc. was done with this equipment for all my inlaws who I deeply love. For the record my inlaws all live within ten miles of us, my family lives over 200 miles away and get no benefits of the equipment.

I would estimate half the hours on the TC40 would be her riding our son around the fields. Will not use the golf cart or 4 wheeler for that.

Bird - Just to funny...My Mrs. has always been the same way...never has sat on the tractor or expressed any interest in her using it. Now I can understand that with the big JD 3020 but when I bought the NH - TC-29 Boomer I showed her the woman sitting on the tractor on the cover of the brochure and she still was not interested.. I must have done an equally good job of convincing her it was hard work:laughing::thumbsup:

???? Seriously you're offended cause some people use the word toy???? Gee how nice would it be for everyones life to be that simple.

I strongly resent the tone and content of this thread, my tractors are serious machines used solely for the improvement and maintenance of my property and by extension the health of the planet on which we live. I spend an inordinate amount of time operating this machinery performing intricate maneuvers at great cost to me and my personal well being in furtherance of conservation and agricultural production. That's my story and I am sticking to it.:)

My wife has little concern, she's does not wish to or want to operate any equipment ... I stated in another post... Once she came to the barn and commented "I didn't now we had so much equipment" ... I said we don't ... that way I can keep it coming!!!

It was the wifes idea to get a new tractor, never thought she would go for it.

...city girl from the hills of West Virginia...

Well im sorry if i started anything by refering to my new tractor as a "TOY". I guess i have a good wife and she even refers to it a a toy. She has never questioned what i buy or even when i buy it. As long as im maintaining our land and making money with the tractor she dont care what i call it. She gets the things she wants and so do I. Boy i love my wife.
