How do you folks travel with you pets? We returned last weekend from a road trip to Frederick, MD where we had one of the dogs in the picture bred. We stayed at a Marriott Residence Hotel and had a suite with two rooms and cooking facilities, really nice and reasonable.
While we were there Ivan made his trip through the area and we were able to see a tornado up a little too close for me. We had a day to kill in between breeding days and I saw that the Civil War battlefield Antietam was near by so off we went. The tornado set up while we were driving back to the hotel.

Antietam was a surreal trip, we were not prepared for the emotional feeling learning that the day we went was actually the date the battle took place in 9/17/1862. I can't explain the sense I got knowing that just over 23,000 soldiers were killed/missing there that day. It was an overwhelming feeling!

I know the feeling, Michael! Whenever I traveled overseas I visited battle sites where my fellow Marines fought and died. Never failed to bring a tear to my eye. I just think of all those youngsters who never had a chance to find love, raise families, grow old and wise. The level of sacrifice is incredible.

thanks, he weighs 150lbs now. he certainly loves the snow and cold weather, he perfectly happy outside when its 10 degrees. in the summer we have his fur shaved and it seems to help keep him cooler but also keeps are house alot cleaner and helps us see ticks. we leave him in the airconditioned house whenever its over 80, he had a seizure a few years ago from walking him when its hot.

Nice dog!

As a kid I had a St Bernard and we used to set up a small kiddie pool that he could lay down in when it got hot. Of course then he would get out and shake off......what a mess.

We got a kiddie pool for our Berner but before we could fill it with water he dragged it off as his new toy.

Our 2 year old Schoner Switzer Hund just got a new little sister. We drove to Columbus, OH last week to meet Jessica, a rescue Berner from Kansas. The kids are getting along just fine. They are great travelers and especially love the "Red ROOF Inn."

Hi Doug,
As they say the fur has been known to fly around our place. They all carry tons of coat all year long.
this is a photo of the wife working on of the boys at a draft test.
