I am looking to purchase a PHD for my GC2300. I am looking at sub-compact specific models from woods (model PHD25) and bush hog (model PDC). The woods will go up to a 12" bore but the bush hog only goes up to 9". These things are pretty pricey (around $700-800 inc. tax, freight, setup, etc, with the woods being more) b/c they are specifically built for the sub-compact. I was wondering if anyone has experience with these or the standard cat 1 units.

thanks

Weesa

Hi Weesa,

I don't have direct experience with a PHD on a 2300, but I have looked at a few threads about similarly sized setups over the last few years here on TBN. Here's one (without a lot of information): Full-size PHD on BX2200 . I could have sworn someone had a thread on this topic specifically for the GC, but I couldn't find it in the archives (have you tried using that feature?). I did remember this one though: Deere_x475guy's post . If you follow his links to his photos, I think he shows his old JD2210 (similar size to GC2300) with a Speeco PHD. You might be able to PM him (another feature of this site) and pick his brain on this topic. Welcome to TBN, have fun with that GC2300, and good luck!

I have the Woods PHD25 with a 12" auger bit. I am very happy with it. Fits my sub compact perfectly. Well made. I would buy it again.

you mean to tell me one of these micro tractors will run a 12" auger?........thats scary, i run a 12" on a full size tractor and it shakes pretty bad, i cant imagine running it on something 1/5 the weight. maybe this is why you never see anyone posting on hear with a subcompact over 1000 hrs. i think thats asking way too much for a machine that small. sure it may do it for awhile, but..........

This doesn't have anything to do with PHD, but I recently purchased a Honda 6522 SCUT - 22 HP Diesel - 33" Rear Turf tires. Came with Power Dozer blade, 60" MMM (non-operating) and Bush Hog (pretty beat up) there are just over 1,600 hours on engine. Cosmetically needs some TLC but mechanically the tractor seems in great shape.
