I have had several people stop by the farm to try and sell arial photos. They had pictures from the fifties that were pretty good. Much clearer than the ones I can view online. I'm sure they got them from someone, just not sure who. We have owned the property in Urbana, Ohio for 100 years so I really liked seeing what it looked like. I just couldn't justify 250.00 dollars to get the picture. The sad part was he insisted on colorizing the picture. Wouldn't sell it without adding color.

That was being done waaayyy back. I was still in grade school when the offer was made so that was prior to 1949 and after 1941.

I had the same thing happen about 6 years ago but the pic was only $25. I have it hanging on my office wall. The satellite photos don't compare at all to this one.

About 10yrs ago someone knocked on our door and when I opened it they were holding an aerial picture of our place.
Its probably an 11x14 and was already framed, can't remember what price he started at but I ended up paying $30 which was a fraction of what his first price was. It's a nice picture and I'm glad I bought it for that price, the place has changed quite a bit since then though.

I'm very fortunate in that I work with a guy who is a private pilot and has two planes that he frequently takes pictures from. He only lives a few miles from my house (as the crow flies, so to speak) and he just finished building a "Breezy", which to me looks like something World War I test pilots might refuse to fly.
Anyway, he not only takes photos for me, but he has also mounted a video camera to it and has given me video of flyovers of my place. And what I think is even better is that his new plane only needs about 500' of relatively flat, smooth ground to take off and land on. Once we are done with hay, he's going to come in for a landing and pick me up - maybe. I'm not sure I'm quite up to that yet!

I had a guy show up at my house at the time, about 15-20 years ago. I was home on my day off, he came down the driveway
with a nice picture in a frame. He was the best salesman I have ever encountered, and yes, I'm in sales! By the time we got done,
I negotiated down quite a bit, he already spent the money on the picture/frame etc., but I did take the picture , less the frame,
at about 25% of what he was asking initially. When I tried to tell him my wife had the checkbook, and I had no cash, he was
quick to point out that I would have the next book of checks in the house and could use one of those, which I did!
Last Saturday (father's day weekend) I had my own first private pilot lesson, which included about 45 mins of flight time, and
I was able to take my SO with me, she brought the camera, and took some great pictures of the house! I was able to find a
co-worker's house a little further in the flight too. Loved flying too! might have to continue with lessons
