Hosejockey2002:
All the 1401d's I've sold and currently have use that key. I have a box of 50 blanks on order and will make up a bunch. I will post when ready.

Jim's Tractors
I went to my local JD Dealer yesterday, got a couple of spares and was suprised to find that they could be used right out of the box to start my 1601D.
It just depends on the dealer. I have walked in and handed them the Yanmar key and said I need one of these. They look at it real strange and then get me a pack of keys. The local Massey dealer has let me on their computer to do parts searches for Hinomoto tractors. I have actually had the Massey dealer call me to get info on greys that people were wanting to trade in or needed parts for. It just depends on the dealer.
I lost the only key I had for my 186D, so I took the switch out of the tractor and went to the JD dealer. I told him that I thought that the JD650 key would fit my switch. The first key he tried worked and they seemed happy to have been able to help me.
I have two extra keys from JD which I use as spares. I just asked to see the keys that fit their compact tractors that Yanmar makes and compared it to my key. It fit so I use them. Not really a problem since yanmar tooled the origionals for both tractors
I just got a bunch of the single cut keys made for the 1401d's. They have the same cut as the key that hosejockey2002 posted. Email me if you are interested.
