I'm certain that hard lines will provide superior protection. Especially if you are going into the brush, limbs etc with an implement. I can also see that hard lines will require a level of precision that hydraulic hose does not. Looks like you are searching out all the answers before the first step - this will prove to be to your benefit. I would have tried doing the work myself but this is an area that I have zero experience. I've learned from experience - "when to hold them and when to fold them". For me, better to pay the pros and know its done correctly. Work carefully & good luck.
