Yes our rates are excessive. It ruffles me because rather than base rates on cost of service plus a reasonable profit the companies charge what the market will pay. We do need more small players and competition, but big companies have locked up all the spectrum.
As for backups....I'm the one who suggested the NAS. Even with unlimited bandwidth and usage I would stick with my NAS solution because (for me) it has tangible advantages. I worked in computer/network systems from 1986 until retiring in 2003 and am still comfortable with technology even though I don't understand a lot of the new stuff. I realise my solution is not for everyone.
