Made myself a new handle from a branch of hardwood. Used a spoke shave to do it! Yet to varnish it.

Very nice! I like the custom contour. Why go and pay good money for a new handle when they grow on trees?

Made a 5/8” pin for an old rear blade.

Might try Boiled Linseed Oil on such a fine handle.

Apply a light coat everyday for a week, once a week for a month, once a month for a year...

Makes for smooth handles, no blisters from the varnish and it'll keep your hand-crafted handle from drying out...for a lifetime.
