The pasture looks pretty clean, I'm surprised your not haying it.

It's my neighbor's. If it was mine I probably would have some one come in and do it in exchange for the hay and a few rolls for my horse tenant. I did run into a massive 10X10 area of about 8 ground hog holes. I really hate those buggers . . .

Do you feel like your 45 could handle a 7 ft. bush hog? I have a 5 ft and would like to move up 2 ft but am afraid I might not have the power to mow in thick grass and weeds.

Honestly, I can't see why not. I have been cutting in midrange and the stuff you see in the pictures above has cause me NO issues with the 6ft. unit. I am running at pretty good clip and could probably run a bit quicker if the terrain would allow it. I know the power needed to turn a large implement can grow exponentally but I wouldn't see it being and issue especially in low range. in the beginning but did not based on the recommendation of my dealer strictly based on maneuverability.

Helpful tip...
On your finish mower the lower link hook up points.. you will see 2 pins in the arms that hook to your lower links...
The front pins should be removed to allow your mower to float when the tractor drops down over a hill.
With the pins in it will lift the back of the mower off the ground.

Richard, you are right. Great catch. I should have notice. My finisher on my old Ford "floats" perfectly just as you said. Will do next time I walk down to the barn. Thx.

I have the same 7' finish mower. (mine has First Choice stickers on it instead of Kioti, but it's the same mower.) I have been using it to mow around 7 acres for a couple seasons now. I really like the mower. Does a nice job.

Have you cut that field before? If not, I would be surprised if you didn't hit a big *** rock or log or something. When I cut my field for the first time I used a sacraficial mower - not mine.

About an hour in and I hit a deer carcass, couldn't see it in the weeds. I would hate to ruin a brand new mower.
