I got this tiller from my neighbor for $600. It is a Pegoraro 51" with slip clutch, Is made in Italy.(see attached photo) Has less than 25 hrs. on it, and looks like new, other than the dust! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Came with a few new blades as well! Even the color is right for my tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Does anyone know anything about this brand? I hope it will work well in my rocky soil. Neighbor said he never had a problem with it, just stopped doing his garden about 5 years ago and it just sits in his basement. I figured at this price I can always sell it on ebay and get my money back if I don't like it. Of course I'm sure once my friends find out I've got it, I won't be able to give it up! they will have me doing there gardens as well. One thing a want to know is how well a tiller will do in sod. There are a bunch of spots in my yard that are quite rough, and was hoping that by tilling first and then York raking I can smooth them out. Thanks for any info.

I didn't have a York rake, but I sure tilled, then smoothed lots of ground with the box blade and/or FEL. If that "sod" or grass is in sand, it'll till as deep as you want; if it's clay like most of mine, then it'll depend on how dry it is. There were times that I barely scratched the surface and had the tiller hopping up and down on hard dry ground, but when that happened, I just made a second, and sometimes 3rd pass to get as deep as I wanted. I don't know anything about your brand of tiller, but I'll bet you're gonna like it.

I think you will be ok on the price you paid--To give to a general idea of retail price--We did sell that same brand tiller in the 72 inch size,New, with clutch and warranty for $1399-Closing them out and have 1 left--Ken Sweet

I have a Pegoraro TL 125 tiller that is 48" wide. Great tiller, but in bad need of replacement blades. Do you know of a source?

I love coming across old threads and getting all riled up to contribute only to find that the discussion ended years ago. I like it even better  when I am fooled into thinking it is a recent or new thread and blindly post.

It would be nice if there was some sort of alert that kicked in when someone reopens an old thread just to give everyone a heads up to go immediately to the last post rather than starting at the first.
