Finished the paperwork and picked up the Kubota G2160 today. Negotiated the price down to $7150, and financed it at 3.9%.
Just got finished with the yard for the first time out-this thing is a rocketship and has more power than I could have imagined-it makes the gas 25HP V-Twin on my dad's JD look like a weakling. Ride quality/handling is really good, and the quality of the cut is excellent...plus you gotta love that little diesel rattle :)
Ran the machine for just over an hour and it barely moved the fuel level in the tank-I'd estimate just over 1/2 gallon. That's amazing since running my dad's JD the same amount of time would use just over 2 gallons-so far I'll say I'm a very happy camper.

Nice machine. Have fun and let us know what you think about it once you get some more hours on it.

I'll definitely do that...gotta get some stuff together-I'm planning on setting up a PTO type generator head incase we have another hurricane tear through here. 21hp is plenty to run a fairly larger gen head, and the fuel consumption would be less than 1/2 of what my gasoline portable generator used when we had power out for 11 days with Rita. I've just gotta get the PTO speed and such sorted out,and see what needs to be fabricated to set it up.
