Pickup bed ratcheting cargo bar... any opinions?

I have this one: with a divider bar.. Works well for me.

Fiziksgeek, your first link isn't working. Is it the same manufacturer as the divider bar? I was looking at it on Amazon.

All my recent Fords have four tie downs located low in each corner. I run lengths of chain from front to back on both sides. Then it is a simple matter to tie down any shape cargo anywhere in the bed, with cords or straps hooked to the chains.

never ever thought about doing that!!! seems so simple and easy!

I have 2. Both gear type that I grease with anti-seize occasionally as the never leave the beds. One is HD and one is a shortened semi trailer one a trucker pal gave me. That one could bend the box for sure. Love them. Keeps everything up front, or way in the back.

I've used lots of those in my day!

Had to be certain to "store" them overhead just under the ceiling of our van body trailers otherwise they'd go "missing".



I've even seen some truckers attach one end of their ratcheting load bars to a stainless steel cable running the length of their van body trailer to reduce their loss at loading dock sites.

I just use a 2x6 in the slots near the tailgate. Had one laying around, so it was free, and it works.

The Load Locks that Truckers use are the best. Sold at any Truck Fuel Stop, just cut down the pad end and reattach. Will last till somebody steals it.
I keep mine in toolbox to prevent theft when not using.
