Beautiful lookin' country! And those shiny machines are pretty good lookin' too!

Are your tires filled? Do you find that traction is a problem without alot of weight on the rear-end?

Since the machine is designed to have a mounted hoe -- what differences have you noticed when using the machine without it?

Thanks again for the pics. Lookin' forward to seein' your excavator, too.

Both machines have filled tites, i think all TLBs should have loaded tires. Having the hoe on makes a huge difference in terms of "tipping", but doesn't bother loading power and traction as the L48 is so heavy to begin with. I will say, even though there have been numerous complaints about the L48 HST High range being too weak, without the hoe the High range works fine. I have been plowing all winter.....6 hours today.....and High works just fine except up steep hills. Now that we have several feet of rain hardened, frozen snow on the sides of driveways, you need a machine like the L48 to power thru. There are several neighbors who have smaller B and L series tractors who just bounce off the snow banks, and I give them a hand with some serious L48 pushing power with chains and loaded tires. Night and day. Wish I had a cab.

Wow, you must have some reluctant brides and grooms if it takes a tractor to drag them to the altar...I was thinking a funeral business would be a better match for the backhoe/excavator.

Same differance except one keeps skuirming around for a few years after the ceremony.:D

Nice tractors, CURTIS. Brrrrr....I see why you want a cab.

I notice that my Kubota B21 owner's manual says load the rear tires if not
mounting the backhoe and do not load the tires if backhoe IS mounted.
Does your L48 OM say similar?

My OM also says no to loaded tires with hoe on, but I disagree and both machines delivered with loaded tires as standard equipment. I wondered about warranty issues, but am not concerned. Loaded tires make a huge difference on a tractor, and with a L48 with loaded tires pushing 10,000 lbs., that equates to serious pushing power. Like no other Kubota I have driven in that sense and I would bet a tracked machine would be an interesting tug of war for a pulling partner.
