Very nice, thanks. I enjoy hand feeding my cats to see those vacuum mozzles out of the water slurping the food.

I've been tossing out food for them with out any reaction. The weather is warming up, and the minnows are eating the food, but no sign of the catfish.

Yesterday the kids and I decided to try fishing them. We cought one each on cheese. One was much larger than we ever imagined it could be in less than a year after stocking!!!!

How old are your fish? The ones in the pictures look to be about the same size as mine. Have you fished them yet? What works for bait? Have you eaten any of them? I've been told that they taste "grainey" when fed fish food, but don't know this for a fact.

Good job on the pictures. We've spent hours and taken hundreds of pictres trying to catch them at the right second when they come up to feed. It's been very dificult for us. hahahaha

It's gonna be a fun year.

Hi Jim,
Wow that is amazing !!! The last time I saw anything like that was when we were fishing for blues out on Long Island Sound and the blues were feeding on bunker, you didnt want to fall over the side of the boat  :)

My Dad does this too. Some of the cats are huge. Dad uses a hoola-hoop on a small chain. He throws it into the water and it floats. Then he puts the catfish food in the ring. This way the food does not float away and it keeps them feeding right there close to the dock where you can see them. Lots of fun. Kids love it.

I stock them last year they were 8-10 inches long. I had a floater right before november and it was 4lbs and 22 inches long. I saw a few feeding that looked to be bigger than that. I havent fished for them yet so i havent tasted them i took probably 50 pictures and those 3 were the only ones that were good.

I don't have any pictures to post but my bass and bream share my small pond with some "grass carp" the oldest two we can recognize and one is "G" and the other is "H" (Graff & Hindenburg) then we later purchased 5 more, we can't distinguish them one from the other but they are named "S" "N" "R" "T" & "L", we refer to them as the "WHEEL" (of Fortune) that is.:D
I haven't bought any vowels yet.

Oh man am I jealous of you guys with the ponds. I had a guy from the NRCS come by my place a month or so ago to advise me about pond construction. He did core samples at several places and the sad result is that my soil conditions aren't favorable for ponds. It is highly likely that my sandy, rocky soil won't hold water. I don't want to spend lots of $$$$ for a dry hole.

Oh well, I'm sure I can find other places for the money I would have spent on the pond. I still don't have every tractor attachment known to man, so there are still hills to climb.

Just keep feeding in the same place and time and the catfish will respond. All I have to do is walk out on the pier at feeding time and you can see the furrows in the water heading toward the pier. I have some Channels that are 8-10 lbs. When it warms up (today it's 25 degrees with a wind chill close to zero) I will catch some of these big guys and post a picture, we plan on having a family get together and fish fry when spring makes it's appearance.
