Tractor
John Deere 4520
Hopefully I can attach pics of my new trailer I picked up the other week. I kept switching between different types of trailers I wanted to get. I wound up with tilt bed trailer because I liked how it had torsion axles so it hauled the load low. With the way the tilt works, it is also very easy to load a car on it, which I dont know that can be done with an equipment trailer with dove tail. The fenders are also removeable. It is a PJ 24' 14K 6" channel equipment tilt. The tractor was just strapped to see how it fit and move it around the property.

how big of tractor is that? (hp? utility or compact?)
what size brush cutter on the back?

Trying to size for mine
That's really slick with the tilt
How hard is it to hook and unhook so it tilts?
how about ground clearance over ruts/bumps/etc?

how much?
thanks

Tractor is a 4520 with Imatch, and MX6 cutter. The bucket is a 73in HD and it will not fill between the angle reinforcements at front of trailer. (only thing I failed to measure) So there is a foot or two max in front of the loader bucket thats empty. The tailwheel for the cutter fits pefectly between the ramps. Tilt couldnt be any easier. It has a hydraulic cyclinder for resistance only. When its empty, I just unlock it with pedal and walk down the end of the trailer and it tilts. Loading and unloading, the weight of tractor, car etc does it automatically. Ground clearance is more than adequate to my tastes. Trailer was $5600.

thanks
Looking for something for the next larger tractor, that is slick to get off and on (since we do that a lot, at least twice a day) and that tilt is slick
esp. for the wife who isn't keen on lifting heavy things
Plus, it shortens the trailer, no 5' dovetail.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Oh, you gotta get some chains BTW

PJ makes the trailer. Yeah I have chains, thats why I stressed in the first post that I was just moving it around the yard and seeing how things fit. I havent even been on the road with it yet with the tractor loaded.

Hey all,
Just to let you know we sell PJ trailers at work, I am not a salesman by any means, and I am not trying to promote our trailers, I just thought if anyone would like any info on the models to let me know. I can get any info you need. There are several different types of the tilt.

Good thing, if you tried to pull out onto the road with that setup I bet a police crusier would be behind you before you were completely off your property.

:)

Naturally refering to the first picture.

Also thanks for sharing. Good Looking trailer, nice tractor too. Although can I recommend a paint. I have this really nice Blue paint for touch ups on my tractor. I can get the name oif you need it. Might match the tractor better than that green. :)

Thanks for the compliments. I actaully looked real hard at the New Hollands and was going to get one from Corriher but fell into a good deal on this used tractor with cab, so I couldnt pass it up. Its bigger than I needed for my propery but o well, there is more land out there. LOL

Darrin, I don't have a trailer and probably won't get one (that way my family can't use my tractor!!) But, I have looked at several and without looking underneath of your trailer and seeing how strong it's made, that's the nicest that I have ever seen. I really like the tilt feature and how it works. Very nice setup, should last you a long time.
