I drilled my holes quite easily with a Unibit, a hole saw works well also. Just don't drill fast and heat up the bit. I used 3/4" nuts and bolts.

My bucket hooks are drilled through the top of the bucket. The hooks that I used on the tractor are tow hooks, I first installed them on my truck about a year ago (and have used them several times), they are very strong and are rated at 10,000 lbs. Each hook has two bolts and you can pick them up at any auto store for about $10 each. I can post a pic if you want.

I'd like to see some pics of how you mounted those hooks. I've got 3 sets of tow hooks off my Chevy trucks that were removed to install a plow that are just lying around gathering dust. I feel a project coming on!

Those are the best kind. Leaves more time for fishing.

Thanks a bunch! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice teeth! I'm not entirely up to speed with tooth bars. However, I would like to know more before I purchase a Markham for my bx23. I'd like to ask TBN experts a couple of questions:

1. Are tooth bars for 48" buckets normally equipped with 5 or 6 teeth? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

2 How does the 5 tooth tooth bar perform? Would it be better with 6 teeth?

I think the 4' have 5 teeth and I would not want 6 on my 4'.

If you are going to be digging get a toothbar. If you are not going to be digging, just scooping up loose material, gravel, manure, etc. you don't need one.

The toothbar on my BX2200 has 6 teeth and it works very well.
