Finally getting dry enough to put the finishing grades on this field. We had to do some significant upgrades to the irrigation system also. They have a good irrigation system, but it has been neglected for many years.

I watched a video of the Savanah Bananas and how they converted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football field into a baseball field. It made me think of all the work you do to make a field perfect.

They cut out the grass, brought in a bunch of dirt to build up the mound and made a very nice-looking baseball diamond. I guess it's worth the cost since they sold out 81,000 seats for two days in a row.

But it sure did look like a lot of money to do this, and then they will have to undo it.

Up where I used to live, kinda the same thing happened but only with a tv episode (Nostradamus episode 6). They transformed the entire front of a restaurant including repaint, signage, repavement and lighting. Had to cost at least 20k…for a 3 minute scene.

Drone pics today. I still have to dress up the edges, but it's still wet there.

I’ve wondered the same thing when I see an indoor stadium converted to a motocross or monster truck event. Also the dust that must go everywhere in a costly facility.

About 7 or 8 years ago, they would have a big concert in LSU's Tiger stadium and it was Memorial Day weekend. A good friend of mine would get the contract to go in after the concert, remove all the grass, laser grade it, and install new grass. Back then, it was about a $100,000 job and the concert people would pay for it. I was lucky enough to help lay the sod a few times.
