That is one of the best things about it actually. I strike up a conversation with every stranger I meet. I was putting up a gate one saturday afternoon over there, and my rechargeable battery died. As is my custom, I had forgotten to load my charger for the trip over even though it was at the top of my list. I hurried to the local hardware store to purchase a brace and bit, and missed the 12pm closing by about 20 minutes. There was a guy coming out of the real estate office across the road so I pulled over and asked him if there were another hardware store nearby, and explained my predicament. He said the closest one was about 20 miles away and they were probably closed; but told me if I would follow him back to his house, he had one I could borrow. I followed him back, and he found his old brace and bit, but the bit was a little small for what I needed, but he told me to take it anyway just in case, and to leave it in the doorway of the realty office when I was done with it. I told him I could bring it back to his house, but he assured me it would be just fine if I left it at the door of his office. My wife is always telling me "you can talk to anybody", but I was really struck by that trusting fellow. It was quite refreshing from living here near, and working in Memphis. Restored my faith in the goodness of human nature. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
