Re: Tiny Tach

You're very observant! The Craftsman toolbox was $6.99, no tools, so you can add all of your favorites. It required two rubber spacers in order to center it over the tractor sheet metal bar. The overhang required attaching a 1/4 in cable stop to the existing holder bracket for the third link, a foot of small link chain and a spring loaded clamp to wrap around the third link when storing it.
The toggle switch on the dash controls a rear two prong trailer type connecter which is used for the forward aiming lights on the ROPS or unplugged and used for a sprayer or an Earthway spreader that slide into the tube receiver hitch.

Very nice, I think some of my customers may be getting the seat lift! Great idea, and simple!

Re: Tiny Tach

When you installed the tiny tach did you paint the tranducer and where you removed the paint from the tuel line? Did you use heat resistant paint?

Thanks.

Re: Tiny Tach

How do you like the C Crane radio? I don't plan to put a radio on the BX but was interested in the C Crane radio for home use. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

The AM reception here is really bad.

Re: Tiny Tach

Standard Kubota gray paint was used. I purchased it from the dealer. I don't know if it is heat resistant but so far there has been no sign of scorching of the transducer.

Re: Tiny Tach

I have two C Crane radios and they are superb for reception although they will still pick up electrical interference from light dimmer switches, flourescent lights and halogen lights in the house. The fender mount on the BX has not disappointed, there is no interference at this area on the tractor.

Do you hit your knee on that tach where it is mounted.? It looks like it would be something you'd be hitting all the time.

Re: Tiny Tach

Where did you get your C Crane radio from? Since Dish Network Satellite does not carry the NY Yankees, I have to listen to them on the AM radio. How good does it receive AM signals?

Thanks

Tom

I'm 6' 1" and I've had no trouble bumping the tach because my legs are too long too fit under the steering wheel and the tach is mounted under the steering wheel where my knee never rests.

Re: Tiny Tach

Go to CCrane.com and read or order the catalog for the radio and check out there AM antennas if the radio alone doesn't pull in the signal, but I bet it will. It has been an excellent AM performer getting stations over 200 miles away in daylight hours.
