Bob,
You might have seen my post on inquiries for material to do a 3000 sq ft surface around my pond. Around here flagstone would run me about $8 per sq ft, I am probably going to go with some tumbled pavers at $1.45 - $2.00/ sq ft. Are you doing a big area?

Larry, fortunately for me no. The area would only be about 20 by 15 feet. Flagstone here is sold by the pound. It ranges in price depending on the type, color, etc. But for thin pieces suitable for patios, it probably averages about 37 cents a pound but goes as high as 42 cents, with about 3200 pounds per pallet (or so the guy at the stone place told me), each pallet is stacked about 32" tall with mainly large and medium sized pieces. So my small project would probably be a minimum of 2 pallets and cost significantly more than conrete.

Bob, Given your numbers it appears to be $8 - $9 a sq ft.

Unfortunately that sounds about right, not including the sand and crushed stone base! And of course, MY LABOR rates /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Larry

Your screen looks great. Reminds me of the one my Dad had at our nursery. I've been working on making myself one, and was fortunate this week to come up with some used screens (with a few holes) from a Read screening plant. Unfortunately our soil here isn't as clean as yours and contains many 6" to 36" stones so I will need a set of heavy bars above the screen to remove these clunkers.

Keep up the good work.

Nice job Larry.

I made one but after seeing yours I'll not be posting a picture.

Hi Larry,

Is that your son? What is he wearing??????

If it's like it looks to me, maybe you could edit him out. We don't want to attract any dirtbags to TBN.

Kevin,
It is my son, and I didn't even notice him there. I can't make out what he is wearing, but if he was down playing in the pond it is possible that he is in his all together. I would gladly edit him out, but don't know how to replace a picture that is already posted. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
