I don't have a picture, but if you live in a light snow area you can build a plow by chaining 3 or 5 old tires together in a diamond. You can tow that behind a truck or tractor and it does a passable job.

In heavier wet snow it tends to get up on top of the snow, and you need some room for turning around, so it's not suitable for all applications.

I live in a cold place where the snow is generally dry and light, and I've used this method to clear six to eight inches on the 1/3 mile or so driveway into my Dad's old place pulling with a 2 wheel drive half ton.

Hey Rob,
Have not been through the rest of this thread but i would suggest ditching the the backhoe and either loading the rear tires or rear wheel weights. The reason for this being that when you are using a front blower the lift for it is in float so its weight is not on the frame and you would have no steering control. I run into this issue with my b3030 sometimes and have to lower my rear blade to regain steering control (or take the blower out of Float). front frame weights would of course help. I also run chains or all four corners

Nothing fancy but here are my weapons!

No charge for the idea of the cool profile pic! :)

Todays snow weapons were a TT50R and an XR650R. Little man had to go out and ride!

We had a 4" inches of lighter snow and then it really cut loose and we got 11" of wet, heavy snow this morning. I plan on making a ballast box for the 3pt and if this keeps up, I will need to get er done.

Here is my Snow tool, its a 2004 B7510 hst 4x4 with 540 hours. the cab is homemade and only takes about 1/2 to 3/4 hour to put it on. The blade is for the first few "snow events" of the year the gets switched for the front mount snowblower. The last picture is the one that is the MOST fun to eat the snow up with and was taken after about 150 mile ride in South Western New York last Febuary!!! Can't wait to use that one some more!! oh and I used the tractor to plow with today...just 1 1/2 inch but I had to get my feet wet first time this season.

Here goes with my machines.
JD450, 55hp Jinma and the used snow blower purchased earlier this year.
Incidently, I have worked on the TPH snow blower and can get it to chuck snow some 30' or more now with it hooked up to the Jinma tractor. I also have a 28", 10hp MTD walk behind snowblower as well :)

I've been holding off on showing my winter setup as I was waiting to receive my new snow pusher. While I like the snow blower for long runs, I really prefer a front plow for the large parking areas.

You'll notice I have the Pull-type blower where you drive over the snow and the blower scrapes up and blows it out of the way. It saves on the neck strain and cleans up the driveway really well.

We just got our first snow around Georgian Bay and you can see the ground isn't yet frozen. I've got the skid shoes set up as high as possible to save the gravel but it's so much easier once everything's frozen up.

Have a good season everyone!

John
