Re: piddlin\'

That is a very nice looking piece for your BX unit. Now tell me what you do with it please? What is it for, yeah, I know it is a reciever hitch but why make it 3 point and why a reciever at all? Not an argument agaisnt--nope--not at all--I just want to know--inquiring minds and all that.
Don't those lights blind you? I need some lights like that too but just cannot figure where to put them that would be any better than where you put yours. I would like to put them up top but a tree limb would quickly remove them.
Nice unit, like that switch too.

Lights:
Get a real light weight halogen light and mount it on a hardhat. Then rig it up so you can plug it into the tractors battery using a flexible cord. It will light up wherever you are looking.

Re: piddlin\'

Have you considered welding a heavy wire cage around the light once it is installed. You can leave the back open and it will still be protected from limbs.

Re: piddlin\'

just got in tonight, tryin out the new lights, and you're right, they will blind me if i look back, don't know what to do about that unless i just turn them off, will put on a back light with a separate switch.
the receiver hitch, i can use with a ball to pull my trailer and also my wood splitter. the original hitch on the bx is too low to the ground to do much work with, i'd have to redo the hitch on the trailer to use it.

Milkman,

I am in the process of designing a barn. I like how you have done the ceiling. It looks simple and clean. What is the material and what is the ceiling height?

Thank you,

Peter

That is a nice photo. What camera do you use?

Re: piddlin\'

Re blinding lights, there is a thin black foam for tool box draws. Use this to cut a half of a coned-shaped shade and use a long worm-gear clamp to mount to the light. If you turn your face or head into it , it is forgiving.

Re: piddlin\'

pks, the ceiling is 8' and there is a pull down stair with storage above, you know for christmas decorations and stuff. the pink ceiling is a foam 4'x8' insulation from home depot.
this is my garage where i do my piddlin' as the wife calls it. the tractor is in the shed, 16'x16', fits real nice. woodshed attached, you know what that's for, the discipline takes place out behind, or so they tell me.

Re: piddlin\'

Ray, great idea, i have some of the drawer liner you're talking about, i was thinkin last night that i need a metal shield to block the light, but that would do some damage to the head and face if i got into it, love this board, lots of ideas, thanks
