Kind of wish tractors were OBD compliant. I have a fancy Autel tablet scanner that is worth it's weight in gold when it comes to diagnosing issues. The Autel even tells you what the defective component is. Like it so much I went and bought an Autel drone.

OBD only requires the manufacturer to make emissions systems diagnosis via the plug. All the other electronics in a platform do not have to be accessible by OBD. From what I read here, the need is far more than OBD. You need full factory capability.

I remain convinced that the only path for tractor owners is to band together and force what was done in the auto industry onto the Ag industry; force a standard for all manufacturers and force a reasonable cost tool being made available. The solution in the auto industry was called the J2534 pass through tool and all OEs had to make software available to the aftermarket that allowed the J2534 to provide the connectivity of the factory tool and factory software. The aftermarket technician had to be able to do the same tasks the dealer technicians can do.

Seems to me that the precedent has been set. Congress already knows what was done in the auto industry. Why not jump on that and see if you can get a coalition together to support Ag Equip aftermarket diagnostic capability?
