Pileated Woodpecker

   / Pileated Woodpecker #21
Haven't seen any pileated woodpeckers around here yet, but just about every other kind of bird I guess.
TonyC: I too had some real bad problems with carpenter bees - ours are shiny black/greenish with a yellow face. The males are really agressive (but can't sting) and they took over my tractor shed last year./w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif This winter, I painted all of the exposed beams, squirted bee spray in each hole (about 30 or 40) and then caulked them in. This year, no more problems!/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif Only seen a couple (looks like they redrilled some caulked holes). Just sprayed the two holes and a couple of 'em staggered out; then recaulked. Sure is nice not to have to take the tennis racquet with me to get the tractor.
