OMG Z Sweet....

Well I don't know if any of this qualifies as "Pimping" but I've done a few things that I enjoy every time I get in the tractor. My tractor is used commercially but only for snow clearing.

The modifications are as follows:

- Modified the FEL tubes for storage area's.

- Modified the truck plow to adapt to the tractors FEL.

- Modified the bucket by adding a top guard and hooks.

- Added custom built emergency light bar and strobe light to the top of the cab.

- Added L.E.D. strobe lighting to the rear of the snow blower and built custom boxes to house them in.

- Added custom build boxes to the plow so Super Nova L.E.D. strobe lights could be installed adding extra lighting to the FEL side on when plowing.

- Added a reverse beeper. (not a small task on these tractors)

- Added a reverse camera with a color 7" LCD monitor that is also inferred and has a built in microphone in the camera it's self. The camera was adapted to the top rear light making it appear that it was always there.

- Gauge pods were added to each side of the LCD monitor and an ambient air temperature and digital volt gauge was added to each pod.

- Two RAM mounts were added in the cab for mounting various items like my phone and MP3 recorder.

- A moisture sensing system was adapted to the wiper system so when I'm using the tractor the wipers will work automatically when snow or water is present on the windshields. That way I don't need to be switching the wipers on and off myself. The system takes care of that for me.

- Mud flaps were added to the front fenders to help keep the water off the front glass when traveling the machine.

- All common steel hardware that was present on the snow blower was replaced with stainless steel to prevent corrosion.

- Some custom badging and company lettering was added to the tractor.

- Custom trim was added to the rear fenders to give it a more refined look.

- The rear factory lollipop top lights that came with the tractor were replaced with L.E.D. lollipop lights.

- Added a few cool rubber holders on the snow blower to hold a shovel and bar. :D

Although there has been allot of stuff added to the machine you would never notice it at first glance. When I add or customize anything my goal is to make it look as if it's always been there. One guy said to me the other day who has a Cabbed Kubota " I'm going to order one of those light bars" I had to tell him that It's hand made and Kubota don't sell them. I now have to make one for him.

If there's anything that is of interest to you let me know and I'll add detailed photo's of it.

Here's some YouTube video's related to the tractor and the things I've done to it:

One word WOW:)

You definitely need more property to go with that tractor! How big is your driveway?

Oh man I'm sorry to have not replied earlier. I must have missed it. My driveway is only 700 feet long but I have a few snow removal contracts just across the street and there is 4 large lots there to be plowed out. In the past I used my 1993 GMC truck to plow it all but there were times I couldn't get out the driveway because of all the snow so I retired the truck and only use it for towing my welding machine around now. I apologize for taking so long to answer your question. I've watched your video's and really enjoyed them. Great tractor!

4shorts: Those're really sweet mods you've done to you working tractor. I'd love to see a video on the rear video installation, and hear how you use it. Quality work! Thanks for sharing.

Not in the same league as most of the other guys' work, but maybe this will inspire hackers with old tractors, like mine. I felt the need for a temp. gauge, voltmeter and oil pressure gauge, and back when I did it, someone had posted a link to a supplier who had the whole package on sale for $12-14, so I couldn't resist. They've worked fine for several years now, so it was a few bucks well spent. My only wish would be for an excuse to upgrade to a larger Kubota, but this one still gets 'er done, so I suppose I'm stuck.

Thank you sir. You know I never thought about doing a video on the reverse camera although it can be seen in the video I attached here but I'll have to do a dedicated video for ya ;) Thanks again!

I've also added a digital ambient air temp sensor and a digital volt meter to the side of the reverse monitor that's not in the video.

My friend I have to say you did one very fine job installing them. Did you fabricate the box there in? I don't know who or even how you could have done it any better. Perfect. Hats off to you

Thanks for the approvals, guys. Yep, I bent the gauge box from some scrap half hard aluminum I had. I had found a clearance can of gray spray paint for a buck, and it matches the Kubota color pretty well- another incentive to do that little project. 4shorts- does you cab have AC and heat- I'd imagine it does... Pretty nice concept- I get tired of snow blowing in my face, brances wiping more snow down my collar and cold wet feet.

One thing my old tractor doesn't have is provision for any additional hydraulics (I used my single takeoff for power steering, and though that was a needed and welcome mod, I still would love to have a blade rotator cylinder on the back). I get tired of hoping off and on the tractor to swing the scraper blade this way and that when I am plowing snow. Maybe in the next life I will live in the Upper Pennisula, and get to play with lots of snow. When we get our occasional 25" storm, I wind up using the bucket, since I don't have anywhere to push that much snow off the side.

What a nice neat job you did , it looks factory installed.

Yes it has ac and heat. To much at times. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done. I sure was impressed by it. One of those days you'll get the cab and all the goodies that come with it. Never say never! ;)

Well WaxMan what a pleasant surprise to see your still around. Hope all is well on your end sir!

After trucking for around 30 years with my own trucks I don't really miss washing and polishing the chrome aluminun and stainless that much so my tractor I work with is pretty much stock if I were to add anything it would have to my CB as i do miss the radio sociallizing everyday. gary

All is well , Thanks 4shorts, I pop in from time to time to see what's going on.
Not much snow so far here in Ct
I don't think I plowed a total of 10 inches of combined total snow storms all season. I miss the night time plows with the snow falling lights camera etc.

Oops, forgot my pimps;

Custom exhaust with high temp silicone tubing to keep the poop off the loader arm - does kick up some dust so may angle up a bit this spring. Tubing allows flex in case the end gets tagged. Joints are 1 1/2 copper fittings.

FEL arm braces took the flex out of the arm / mounts after bumping the psi up to 2000 . . .

Also added ss eyes and grabber hooks to the frame for tie down and yanking stuff + a small tab above the eyes to keep the cowling from vibrating.

No tractor is truly pimped until the hood ornament (Indian front fender from JP's harley parts - grind to fit & of course the eyes are red led) and blue high power led running lights are added . . . . .

achinbac-
Those are truly pimping stuff for the BX :D . The tubing you made for the exhaust, does it smell during the summer after heavy use ? I been thinking of going to my local muffler shop and have them customize a slide-on, twist to lock of some sort. I truly hate those black soot on my FEL.

   / Pimp my ride #39
RMan,

No smell on the tubing (being high temp silicone rubber - Verocious Motor Sports web site) or from the exhaust which used to bounce off the arm and back in my face. 1 1/2" copper fitting slit on three sides with a dremel and a small abrasive wheel is a perfect fit to the stock muffler outlet stub. I used 650 deg. rtv at that joint and a heavy duty ss clamp which you can see in one of the pics (also from Verocious). Soldered up the fittings and used high temp stove paint on it. There is a small L bracket on the interior corner of the frame that keeps the hose from bobbling around, yet lets it slip. Very easy three beer pimp if you can solder.

WoW that truck has all four wheels off the ground , that must be a slightly harder 6 beer+ pimp, :D
As always Dave great job on all your mods. All done with a fine quality too.
Don't forget to add the folding canopy one.
Please don't tell me your going to ski down that slope?
