Hi, I have a backhoe on my b1700, works great all beit a little light. Using it the other day and noticed more sideways free movement than normal. The adjustment on the left ram to slew the backhoe has worked loose. There is a greased pin on the end of the ram which I don't think has been removed for a number of years. It is stuck solid. I have tried tapping it with a hammer but am scared of turning over the head and making a big rivet. Should I use heat or will i ruin the thing. Anyone got any tips as I now want to remove all pins clean and regrease.

Cheers

Pete

Like Egon said, punch and hammer should do it. Make sure you've removed the keeper pins that hold the pivot pin in place and get a punch as close to the pin size as possible. That will help minimize the mushrooming. You might also try some penetrating oil like PB Blaster.

Yeah, that's it. Spray some oil on it, grab a bottle of your local wine, sit back and wait for that oil to do it's thing /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
