Grapple Piranha or Millonzi Root Grapple?

I agree on the Unlimited Fabrications root grapple. I have a 63" standard one on a L39. Excellent piece of equipment. $1500 delivered to NH

When did you buy it?

The Piranha in action. As you can see with this pile I can load the pile up and also grab and pull the pile down. I use the Piranha to get under my loads, and lift as well as open and drop down and grab.

If your main job is picking up brush, I don't think you could do better than a grapple. You get a much wider mouth with a grapple than a bucket. I would say your choice should be driven by the planned usage of the eqt.

Bought it 11/06. The folks were easy to deal with. Added a hook for nothing.

Well, I called all three today: Piranha, Millonzi and Unlimited. Got right through to person who could help me at Unlimited and Millonzi. Got VM at Piranha, but no return phone call today. Will give them a chance to call me tomorrow. Order will include 60 or 63 inch grapple, bail spear, forks and bucket QA plate if order comes from Unlimited.

I understand that A36 is standard mild steel. Where does grade 50 and T1 rate on the ratings chart? Piranha advertises A36, Unlimited claims grade 50, and Millonzi says T1. What is the difference?

Pdsrms: Where did they put a hook, and what for?

Last I checked with Millonzi they were using regular mild steel on their grapples, at least on the 48. I'd be surprised if they use T1 as that is quite expensive material and the Millonzi grapples are generally value priced. I don't see the need for anything like T1 steel in a grapple for a CUT. Maybe if you had a big skid steer and did lots of demo work it would make sense but not for brush and logs.

Hello,

Sorry if there is any confusion, I had just asked John to double check our steel grade for our grapples and it is A36. We use t1 for our fork arms so there must have been a miscommunication.

Joe:
Thanks for the clarification. Perhaps I was not specific enough in my question when I called and spoke with a sales person.
