Been cleaning up around the pond lot and stone walls with the PTB, can't say enough good things about it. I spent around 45 minutes digging up a stump. I could have put a chain around it and pulled it out with one of the Fords, but it was one of those "just because" moments. The roots went straight down surprisingly deep. It finally came out though.

I have one also on my 6' wide bucket and it works well for a lot of things. But digging stumps out in my very hard clay/rock soil is better left to my 4' wide grapple, as the narrower width makes digging much easier in my soil, along with having more pressure on the individual teeth to break up the soil.

I do not have any pictures of my stumps but the largest one made the tractor tipsy with the rear wheels just barely scooting along with the fronts pulling me- very gingerly to its dump site just a few yards away. I have filled rear tires and had a 710# ROBB on it for counterweight.

But I do have a bunch of rock photos. It seems that my oaks prefer to grow between large rocks for their stability at my place.

Thanks for posting this. I love my PTB also.

And there are some people here who seem to think a BX is just a glorified lawn mower. I'm not one of them. I've never seen a lawn mower dig out a stump. Good job.

My PTB has been through very aggressive use, being jammed into large, embedded granite rocks many, many times and scraped along and loaded the same, not to mention the more normal things most folks would use it for. Most of the PTB edges are still about 95% of their original shape and not even close to being ready for touching up with a grinder. This is a very impressive piece of equipment. And my WildKat 48" grapple is made just as well and has been put through even more strenuous use.
