Planet of the Apes may not be too far off!

I read today in the new Western Horseman that Rhode Island is going to make it so that you cannot own animals in that state. You will be a guardian but do not own the animal. That means that now animals will have most of the same rights as any citizen. This animal rights thing is really getting insane.

There are a couple of towns out here trying to do the same thing. So far, not enough "supervisors" have gotten into the act to make it law. We're splitting hares.

The point of such a law is to control you. It is so that if someone else decides it's demeaning to your dog to chase sticks, they can stop you from throwing them.

It's the same for all laws. We have a new ordinance here that says you can't have "noxious weeds" in your lawn. When you look up the definition they give for noxious weeds, it says it includes ALL grasses. So, my lawn is up to the discretion of someone else.
